Early Childhood Caries Controlling Diet

Through trial and error over the past year I have learned how to reverse my own tooth decay. Well over two years ago, I went to the dentist and was diagnosed with three cavities. Many teeth had sharp pain when I touched them near the gum line. My teeth felt loose and I had developed some dental plaque. I knew something was wrong. That was the last time I visited the dentist. All of these areas are now protected, only one place is still mildly sensitive.

This protocol will not work for everybody precisely because your body may not be able to absorb nutrients well due to a lifetime of an improper diet. It also may not work because the diet is not right for you, because you use inferior ingredients because you take shortcuts, or because you are lacking other nutrients that this diet does not cover.

Some Daily Diet Guidelines (Complete guidelines are in my book with explanations)

fermented cod liver oil 3x daily with meals* together with

high vitamin butter oil 3x daily with meals, or of yellow butter per meal.

daily of bone soup, made from slow cooking the bones & organs of fish, chicken, beef and so on.

grassfed bone marrow.

raw, rare cooked, marinated or cooked in stews, grass-fed beef, lamb, chicken or wild fish.**

vegetables, such as zucchini, broccoli, celery, string beans.

Foods to Avoid - It is important not to cheat here:

Sugar – White Sugar, Brown Sugar, Organic Sugar, Evaporated Cane Juice, Corn Syrup, Commercial Jams

Early childhood caries happens when the mother and father do not eat enough nutrient rich foods before pregnancy.

Flour & Grain Products – White Flour, Wheat Flour, Organic Flour, any unsoaked grain products. Examples: bread, crackers, cookies, doughnuts, breakfast cereals, muffins, pastries, tortillas, bagels, and sandwiches (most store bought flour products even from the health food store need to be avoided).

Hydrogenated Oils - like Margarine and Low quality vegetable oils, Vegetable Oil, Soybean Oil, Crisco, Canola, and Safflower (replace with organic coconut oil, organic palm oil, organic olive oil or butter, suet, or tallow).

Any type of junk, convenience food, or modern fast foods

Coffee, Soft Drinks, Nutrasweet, and anything with artificial flavors, artificial colors, or artificial ingredients

Soymilk, Protein Powder, and Excess Tofu

Pasteurized Milk, even if it is organic.

Non-grass-fed meat and eggs, and farm raised fish.

Alcohol, Cigarettes, and Drugs (including most prescription drugs & vaccines)

*2 tablespoons of grassfed liver can be used to replace every 1/2 teaspoon of cod liver oil.

**Medium and normal cooking is acceptable but not preferred

***Yellow butter is the best for bone growth, fish eggs are a good butter alternative as well as a diet supplement.

Note: Adjust your intakes of the foods based on your instincts. Some days or weeks you may eat all beef, and then afterwards eat only fish, and so on. Your body may not be used to such a protocol, and it could take time to adjust. This is not meant to be a rigid protocol, but a careful pointer towards life building foods.

Results: In 2-6 months of following a diet like this (the full diet is described in my book), many people, but not all can expect tooth decay to halt, tooth decay to be prevented, or tooth decay to be remineralized. Even when tooth decay is remineralized, not all the tooth enamel returns, but rather new enamel glosses over the decayed spot. So this method won't regrow a tooth and fill it in completely if you had a hole made by decay, but rather it will cover the hole with a glossy layer of protection.
